Law and Sociology
Law and sociology is a joint degree that places legal study and social scientific analysis alongside each other in a way that illuminates both disciplines. Law is concerned with the technical and doctrinal aspects of legal rules and their application, with the institutions through which law is made and enforced, and with the professional skills of legal reasoning and argument. Sociology brings a different set of tools to bear on the same social world, examining the structures, inequalities, institutions, and cultural practices that shape how people live and how societies reproduce and change.
