Law with Business with Foundation Year

Law with business is a degree for students who want the depth of a qualifying law education alongside the analytical and commercial knowledge that business management provides. Law is a discipline that governs how individuals, organisations, and states relate to one another, and it encompasses contract, tort, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, and a growing body of commercial, employment, and regulatory law that shapes organisational life directly. At the University of Keele, this four-year full-time LLB with a foundation year is delivered by two highly regarded academic schools in law and management. You will investigate the law rigorously, developing critical legal reasoning and the skills to navigate complex legal questions, while also building commercial awareness through management content covering business strategy, finance, and organisational behaviour. The foundation year provides the academic preparation needed before the main degree begins.

Law with business graduates are well positioned for careers in legal practice, both solicitor and barrister routes, as well as in in-house legal roles in commercial organisations, compliance, regulatory affairs, and corporate finance. Many go on to complete the Solicitors Qualifying Exam or Bar Professional Training Course. The business element also supports careers in commercial management, consultancy, and professional services for those who decide not to practise law.
