At the University of Cumbria, this four-year full-time LLB begins with an integrated foundation year, which builds the academic skills and legal knowledge base needed to succeed in the main degree. The programme is professionally recognised and designed to support students who aspire to qualify as solicitors or barristers, as well as those who want to use their legal education in broader careers. You will study the foundational areas of law, including contract, tort, criminal law, public law, and equity, and develop legal skills through practical exercises including client interviewing and mock court cases in both civil and criminal contexts.

Graduates who want to qualify as solicitors or barristers in England and Wales will need to complete further training and meet the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Bar Standards Board. Beyond those professional pathways, law graduates work in compliance, regulation, business management, the civil service, public policy, journalism, human resources, and a wide range of other fields where understanding the legal framework is a genuine advantage.
