About this course

Law with International Business sits at the junction of two disciplines that together shape how commerce is conducted across borders. Legal frameworks underpin every transaction, agreement, and dispute in the global economy, and a degree that combines jurisprudence with business thinking equips you to navigate both worlds with confidence. You will develop an understanding of core legal principles alongside the strategic and operational knowledge that businesses need to compete internationally.

Throughout this three-year, full-time programme you will study the foundations of contract, tort, and constitutional law while also examining how commercial law operates in a cross-border context. On the business side, you will explore areas such as international trade, organisational behaviour, marketing, and finance, developing the analytical habits that allow you to evaluate decisions from legal and commercial perspectives simultaneously. The course pays close attention to communication, both formal legal writing and the more varied demands of professional business contexts, helping you adapt your approach to different audiences and situations.

You will also consider how digital platforms and social media have changed the way professionals communicate, and reflect on your own practice to build the kind of self-awareness that employers value.

The University of Law's London campus places you at the heart of one of the world's leading legal and financial centres, with the professional networks and practical orientation that brings. Graduates of Law with International Business typically move into roles in commercial law firms, in-house legal teams, international trade and compliance, finance, consultancy, and corporate management. Many also continue to postgraduate legal qualifications, including the Solicitors Qualifying Examination route, or pursue further study in business, policy, or international relations.

The combination of legal rigour and business awareness is increasingly sought after by employers who need people capable of bridging specialist functions within complex organisations.

Highly recommend
The programme genuinely lives up to its reputation. The best part: the mooting society and clinical legal education really sharpen your advocacy. If I'm honest, some seminar groups were too big for meaningful discussion. On the city β€” the c…

Worth it overall
Would I choose it again? Probably yes, with caveats. The best part: the opportunity to do independent research in the final year is a highlight. If I'm honest, would like to see more industry guest speakers in later years. On the city β€” loc…
