Law with Spanish

At the University of Strathclyde you will study Scots law within one of Scotland's leading law schools, gaining the academic grounding required for entry into the legal profession north of the border, while also developing fluency and analytical confidence in Spanish. The Law School is home to Scotland's largest student-run law clinic, which provides a genuine real-world learning environment where you can apply legal knowledge to actual cases under supervision. That kind of practical engagement sets the programme apart from purely academic legal study.

The five-year duration reflects the depth of both strands: you will cover the core areas of Scots private and public law alongside Spanish language and aspects of Hispanic culture and literature.

Graduates are well positioned for careers in legal practice, including solicitor training in Scotland or, with additional qualifications, in England and Wales or in Spanish-speaking jurisdictions. Commercial law firms with international clients, multinational corporations, public sector legal roles, international organisations and diplomacy are all realistic destinations.
