Management and Spanish is a degree that combines one of the most practically versatile business disciplines with one of the world's most widely spoken languages. Management develops your understanding of how organisations work, how strategies are formed and implemented, and how leadership, marketing, finance, and operational decisions are made in different kinds of institutions. Spanish is the official language of twenty countries across Europe, Latin America, and Africa, spoken by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, and it opens direct access to some of the most economically significant and rapidly growing markets in the world.

The four-year full-time Management and Spanish programme at the University of St Andrews introduces you to organisations across all sectors of the economy, teaching you the subject-specific techniques of management, including marketing, organisational behaviour, and financial analysis, while also developing the interpersonal skills of problem-solving, critical thinking, and self-reliance. You will be empowered to interrogate evidence, challenge logic, and question established ways of practising management, developing the kind of reflective and rigorous thinking that distinguishes effective leaders. Your Spanish studies progress in parallel, developing your linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding to a high level.

A year abroad gives you the opportunity to use both your management knowledge and your Spanish in a real environment, whether through study at a partner university or professional experience in a Spanish-speaking country.

With a typical entry tariff of 232 points, the programme is demanding and attracts students with serious academic ability and genuine linguistic ambition. Graduates pursue careers in international business, management consulting, the diplomatic service, financial services, and roles across industries with significant Spanish-speaking markets or operations. Postgraduate study in management, international business, or Spanish is also a common continuation.
