About this course

Marketing is essential for all organisations, serving as the management function designed to influence demand for products and services across strategic and tactical spheres. It is so much more than advertising or social media. As a marketer you may be involved in roles as diverse as product development, campaign management, marketing research, pricing decisions, and digital communications and analysis, and are likely to be the person responsible for recognising and responding to customers' needs and wants, often in innovative ways.

Understanding what customers value and responding to it effectively is at the heart of marketing, and a marketing degree develops both the analytical rigour and creative thinking that this demands.

At Nottingham Trent University, this three-year full-time programme equips you with the strategic and practical marketing skills that employers in commercial, public, and non-profit organisations consistently seek. You will develop your understanding of consumer behaviour, market research, digital marketing, brand management, integrated communications, data analytics, and the global and digital contexts that increasingly shape how organisations connect with their markets. A year abroad is part of the programme, giving you an international perspective on marketing practices and consumer cultures across different markets and contexts.

With a typical entry tariff of 120 UCAS points, this is an accessible programme at one of the UK's leading post-1992 universities, which is known for its strong employer relationships and employability focus. Graduates pursue careers in brand management, digital marketing, market research, social media management, content strategy, campaign management, marketing analytics, public relations, advertising, and product management across virtually every sector. Many graduates also continue to professional qualifications through the Chartered Institute of Marketing, or postgraduate study in marketing, digital marketing, or business.
