About this course

Marketing is the discipline concerned with understanding customers, creating and communicating value, and building the relationships between organisations and the markets they serve that underpin commercial success. In a digital economy where consumer behaviour is data-driven and increasingly complex, marketing has evolved beyond traditional advertising and brand management to encompass digital analytics, content strategy, social media, search engine optimisation, and the full range of tools that shape how organisations engage with their customers online and offline.

At the University of Roehampton, this three-year, full-time degree with a foundation year is available for students who need an additional preparatory year before entering the main programme. The BSc Digital Marketing provides the practical skills and strategic mindset needed to shape campaigns across digital platforms in a fast-paced, globally connected industry. You will study consumer behaviour, brand management, digital marketing strategy, data analytics, content creation, and the commercial and ethical contexts within which marketing operates.

A sandwich year and work placement are both available, giving you substantial professional experience in marketing roles before you graduate, which is one of the most valued aspects of a marketing degree from an employer's perspective. The typical entry tariff reflects the foundation year entry requirements.

Marketing graduates work in brand management, digital marketing, market research, advertising, public relations, content strategy, and social media management across a wide range of sectors. Consumer goods companies, technology firms, retailers, agencies, healthcare organisations, charities, and public bodies all employ marketing professionals. Many graduates also pursue professional qualifications through the Chartered Institute of Marketing, or go on to postgraduate study in marketing, business administration, or digital marketing.

The combination of strategic thinking and digital practical skills that this degree develops makes graduates attractive to employers in a field where digital capability is increasingly essential.
