About this course

Mathematics and accounting and finance is a combination that addresses a genuine professional need: the finance industry, and increasingly the broader economy, demands people who can bring rigorous quantitative thinking to financial questions that are becoming ever more complex. Accounting and finance deals with how organisations measure, report, and manage their financial performance, and with how capital is allocated through markets and institutions. Mathematics provides the tools, including statistics, probability, calculus, and linear algebra, that underlie modern financial modelling, risk assessment, and investment analysis.

At Aberystwyth this three-year full-time programme is multi-accredited by leading accountancy bodies, meaning that graduates receive significant exemptions from professional examinations in recognised qualifications. You will develop an appreciation of advanced mathematical and statistical techniques and their application in business, finance, and accountancy, studying both the theoretical foundations of each discipline and their practical applications.
