About this course

Mathematics and sport science is a combination that reflects the growing role of quantitative analysis in understanding athletic performance and human physiology. Sport science draws on biology, chemistry, and physics to study the human body in motion, but the application of mathematics to the analysis of performance data, biomechanical modelling, physiological measurement, and the statistics of competition brings a level of rigour and precision that increasingly defines professional practice in elite sport. At Loughborough you will study this three-year full-time programme at the world's leading university for sports-related subjects. You will deepen your understanding of mathematics, the human body, and how mathematical methods connect with physical applications in the context of sport.
