Mechanical Engineering

Designed to produce high quality and highly skilled graduates in Mechanical Engineering, through work experience, who are ready for employment or further study upon graduation.
When you find a course you like select 'Add to course compare' to compare it with up to two other courses. This course prepares you for diverse engineering roles – with a practice-based approach to mechanical science, design, systems, engineering practice, materials, and manufacture.
You’ll emerge as a highly-skilled graduate – ready to provide optimal and sustainable solutions to future problems across the industry. The MEng degree will consolidate your knowledge and research skills in specialist areas of mechanical engineering, such as solid and fluid dynamics and thermodynamics; you will also broaden your knowledge in engineering systems and emerging technology, whilst enhancing your design, project management and employability skills with a dedicated industrial design project (in collaboration with local employers). Moreover, you will have the opportunity to tailor your curriculum, knowledge and expertise towards other related engineering areas, through a selection of elective modules in topics such as advanced computational methods, artificial intelligence, process improvement, robotics and autonomous systems.
BEng Mechanical Engineering and MEng Mechanical Engineering are taught together for the first 3 years.
