Adult nursing is one of the most direct routes into a healthcare career that has both immediate practical impact and significant long-term scope for development. At Anglia Ruskin University you will study adult nursing over three years of full-time study on a person-centred programme that combines academic preparation with substantial clinical experience in placement settings. You will have the opportunity to focus your placement experience in either primary and community care or acute hospital environments, allowing you to develop your professional identity and skills in the setting that most interests you. Throughout the programme you will study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, nursing assessment and clinical reasoning, care planning, and the legal, ethical and professional frameworks that govern nursing practice.

On completing the programme you will be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a registered adult nurse. Many nurses pursue postgraduate qualifications to develop specialist expertise or move into leadership, education or research.
