At Winchester, the Adult Nursing programme places you in clinical practice from very early in your studies, with your first placement beginning in November of your first year. This early exposure to professional settings gives you an introduction to what nursing actually looks and feels like in practice, before you have had time to develop habits of mind that are purely academic. The university's smaller setting means that your lecturers know you as an individual and can provide the kind of personalised support that can be harder to access in larger institutions.

The programme combines lectures and seminars with substantial hands-on clinical learning, building your competence and confidence progressively over three full-time years. The typical entry tariff is 120 UCAS points.

Qualifying as an adult nurse opens the door to a wide range of settings and specialisms. Graduates work in NHS hospitals, community health services, care homes, occupational health, and private healthcare, and many go on to specialise in areas such as critical care, oncology, mental health liaison, or district nursing.
