Nursing is a profession defined by direct, sustained engagement with people at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and the skills it demands are both technical and deeply human. Mental health nursing focuses on supporting people experiencing psychological distress, psychiatric illness, and the complex social and emotional challenges that accompany them. Child nursing is concerned with the health and care of infants, children and young people, addressing their distinctive developmental needs and working closely with families.

At Edge Hill University, this four-year full-time dual field nursing master's degree gives you the knowledge and clinical experience to register as a qualified nurse in both mental health and children's nursing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The programme is built around extensive practice placements that place you in real clinical settings throughout your training, developing the hands-on competence and professional confidence that nursing requires. You will study the sciences that underpin nursing practice alongside the communication, leadership, and evidence-based decision-making skills that define an effective clinician.
