At Dundee, this three-year full-time programme based in Fife develops the skills needed to work in the complex field of mental health care. You will learn to assess and manage a variety of clinical presentations, studying psychiatric theory, psychopharmacology, therapeutic relationship skills, risk assessment, and recovery-focused approaches. Clinical placement experience is central to the programme, giving you supervised practice in real mental health settings across inpatient, community, and specialist services.

The degree prepares you for registration as a mental health nurse with the relevant professional body. The typical entry tariff is 120 points.

Registered mental health nurses work across NHS inpatient wards, community mental health teams, crisis and home treatment services, forensic settings, child and adolescent mental health services, learning disability teams, and the independent sector.
