Philosophy and Politics with Year Abroad

Philosophy and politics are disciplines with a long history of mutual influence and a natural intellectual affinity. In philosophy you will study areas such as ethics, political philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, and the history of ideas, including exposure to ancient Greek philosophy and its continuing relevance. In politics you will examine theories of the state, comparative political systems, international relations, and contemporary policy challenges, with optional topics ranging from international relations to crises of twenty-first century democracy.

The year abroad is integral to the programme's four-year shape, taking you to a partner institution where you will study for an academic year in a different educational and cultural environment.
