Philosophy
Philosophy is the discipline of careful, rigorous thinking about the most fundamental questions in human experience. It asks what we can know and how we can know it, what exists and what the nature of reality is, how we should live and what makes actions right or wrong, what justice requires in political and social arrangements, and how language and thought relate to the world. Studied part-time at Manchester Metropolitan University, this degree is designed to develop not only knowledge of philosophy's long intellectual history but the independent thinking, clear communication, and persuasive argument that philosophical practice requires.
