About this course

Physical geography is the branch of geography that examines the natural systems of the Earth, studying how landscapes are shaped, how climates function, how ecosystems are organised, and how all of these processes interact with human activities to produce the environments we inhabit. It draws on geology, ecology, climatology, hydrology, soil science, and geomorphology, making it one of the most genuinely integrative of the environmental sciences.
