About this course

Physics is the most fundamental of the natural sciences, concerned with understanding the basic principles that govern matter, energy, space, and time. From the behaviour of subatomic particles to the structure of the cosmos, physics provides the theoretical and experimental tools to investigate how the universe works at every scale. At the University of Salford, this programme begins with a foundation year that builds the mathematical and scientific foundations needed for degree-level physics, making it accessible to students who may not have taken all the prerequisites for direct entry. The full programme runs for four years in total and is delivered full-time.
