At the University of Essex, this three-year full-time degree develops both the theoretical foundations of political science and the applied analytical skills needed to interpret real-world political events and policy debates. You will examine the structures and workings of political institutions, the behaviour of voters, parties, and politicians, the dynamics of political competition, and the ideas and values that shape political argument. Critical theory, case studies from different national and international contexts, and applied policy analysis are all part of the curriculum, building the insight needed to engage with complex political questions professionally.
