Psychology with a focus on Cognition and Neuroscience sits at the frontier of our understanding of the mind and brain. At Nottingham Trent University, this three-year full-time programme covers the core areas of psychology while giving particular depth to cognitive and neuroscientific approaches. You will study the experimental methods of cognitive psychology, including reaction time studies, eye-tracking, and neuroimaging techniques, alongside the biological basis of behaviour, neural anatomy, and the neuroscience of memory, emotion, and decision-making. The programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society, providing the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership that is essential for those pursuing a professional psychology career.

Cognition and Neuroscience graduates are well placed for a range of careers in science and beyond. Academic research in cognitive science, neuroscience, and psychology is a common aspiration, typically requiring postgraduate study at Masters or PhD level. Clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and occupational health psychology are professional practice routes that require further postgraduate training.
