Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour, exploring how people think, feel, perceive, remember, make decisions and interact with others. It is a discipline that spans the biological and social sciences, using empirical methods to investigate questions that range from the neural basis of memory to the social dynamics of group behaviour. At Leeds Beckett University, this three-year full-time BSc Psychology degree builds your understanding of human behaviour through a balance of scientific theory, research and real-world application. From the outset, you will develop the skills to investigate behaviour, analyse evidence and think through the lens of a psychologist. The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad and a work placement, giving you substantial opportunities to apply your learning in professional and international contexts before you graduate.

The typical entry tariff is 120 UCAS points. Psychology graduates who wish to pursue a career as a practising psychologist will need postgraduate training, and the BSc provides the foundational British Psychological Society-accredited knowledge base for routes into areas such as clinical, educational, occupational and forensic psychology.
