Security, intelligence, and cyber are increasingly central concerns for governments, international organisations, and businesses navigating a world in which threats are no longer confined to conventional military force. The study of security encompasses the analysis of terrorism, organised crime, state conflict, and the policies and institutions designed to manage these risks. Intelligence examines how information is gathered, assessed, and used in the service of national and organisational security.

Cyber adds a further dimension that has become essential: the vulnerabilities, attacks, and defensive strategies associated with the digital infrastructure on which almost all modern activity depends.

At the University of Buckingham, this two-year full-time BA gives you a rigorous grounding in the dynamics of global politics and security as they are actually experienced in the twenty-first century. You will examine complex regional security environments, including the dynamics of the Middle East, the resurgence of assertive powers in a multipolar world, and domestic extremist movements. Intelligence studies, security policy, and cyber dimensions are woven throughout the curriculum, developing your capacity to analyse how threats arise and how decision-makers in government and business respond to them.

With a typical entry tariff of 120 UCAS points, the two-year structure provides an efficient route to a specialist qualification.
