Theatre Studies

Theatre studies is the academic and practice-based discipline that examines theatre and performance as art forms, social practices, and cultural phenomena. It asks how theatrical works are made, what they mean in the contexts where they are produced and received, how theatre has changed across history and across different cultures, and what role performance plays in public and communal life.
