Theology & Religious Studies/English Language
Theology and Religious Studies, combined with English Language, is a degree that takes seriously both the inner life of belief and the linguistic structures through which religion is expressed, debated, and transmitted. Theology and Religious Studies is a broad field: it encompasses the academic study of sacred texts, religious traditions, moral philosophy, and the history of belief, and it engages with religion not as a private matter but as a force in politics, history, literature, philosophy, art, and culture. English Language adds a rigorous analytical dimension, focusing on how language works, how meaning is constructed, and how communication shapes thought and society.
At the University of Glasgow, this part-time programme includes a year abroad, giving you the experience of studying in a different cultural and academic environment at some point in your degree.
