Liberal arts with film and television studies is built on the recognition that some of the most important questions facing the contemporary world do not fit neatly inside a single academic subject. At the University of Glasgow you will follow an interdisciplinary programme that builds major skills in the arts and humanities while allowing you to engage with film and television as both artistic and cultural phenomena. You will develop an understanding of global issues including environmental change and social justice, alongside the analytical tools to read moving image media critically: to understand how genre, narrative, representation and industry shape what audiences see and how they interpret it. The programme runs over four years full time and includes a year abroad, giving you international academic experience and broadening your perspective on how culture, politics and media interact in different national contexts.
