About this course

Digital creativity and digital marketing together address two sides of what the modern web economy demands: the ability to produce compelling content and the knowledge to make that content find and engage its intended audience. Digital creativity encompasses the design thinking, storytelling and production skills that sit behind effective digital work, from visual content and video to interactive design and brand communication. Digital marketing provides the strategic and analytical framework for understanding how digital channels work, how campaigns are planned and measured, and how audiences are reached and retained.

This four-year programme at Liverpool Hope opens with a foundation year, giving you a structured introduction to degree-level study that is particularly valuable if you are building from a non-traditional background or need additional academic preparation. Once in the main degree, you will develop your creative and technical digital skills alongside a rigorous grounding in marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, social media, search and analytics. The programme balances theory with practice, ensuring that academic understanding connects to the realities of the modern digital marketplace.

A sandwich year, a year abroad and a work placement are all included, which means you accumulate a substantial amount of professional experience and international exposure by the time you graduate.

Graduates move into roles across digital marketing, content creation, social media management, creative strategy, UX and digital product teams, and brand communications. The breadth of skills the course develops is genuinely valuable in a field where versatility is prized and the boundaries between design, technology and marketing continue to blur. Many graduates also move into entrepreneurial roles, using their combined creative and commercial knowledge to build digital businesses or freelance practices.

Genuinely worthwhile
The course has exceeded my expectations. The best part: the course strikes a good balance between theory and practical application. If I'm honest, accommodation allocation was stressful in the first year. On the city β€” good transport links …

A great decision
Coming here has changed how I think. The best part: the course strikes a good balance between theory and practical application. If I'm honest, would like to see more industry guest speakers in later years. On the city β€” local cost of living…
