About University of the West of Scotland

The University of the West of Scotland is a modern Scottish university with campuses in Paisley, Ayr, Hamilton, Dumfries, and London, serving communities across the west of Scotland and beyond. Formed by the merger of the University of Paisley and Bell College in 2007, it has a strong commitment to widening access and applied, professionally relevant education.

UWS has strengths in nursing and health sciences, computing and engineering, business, social sciences, and creative arts. Its computing and cybersecurity programmes are well regarded, and the university has invested in digital infrastructure to support technology-focused learning. Multiple campus locations allow students to study close to home across a wide area of central and south-west Scotland.
