Should I retrain?
Start with a measurement, not a panic. Look up the job you have and the job you are weighing: how much of each AI is already used for, where each is heading over 20 years, how hard the door is, and what structurally protects the work. Measured August 2026.
How to read a card as an adult
Your job first
The exposure number is a measurement of AI usage today, not a redundancy notice. A high number means the tasks are changing; the question is which parts of your job are the protected parts, and the moat plate answers exactly that.
The door works both ways
Door grades measure entry for a NEW entrant. As a career changer you often carry transferable evidence a school leaver cannot, so treat the grade as the stranger's difficulty, and your CV as the discount.
Routes without a degree
Adult retraining runs through apprenticeships and vocational routes as much as study. Every card links its real entry routes; the ones that need no degree say so plainly.
Vocational routes →Follow before you leap
Every card can be followed: one email if its measurement changes, tied to the public ledger entry that explains why. Decide on the trend, not a headline.
