The Role & Expectations
As an agricultural machinery operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of machinery used in farming, such as tractors, harvesters, and ploughs. Your role will involve not only driving and operating these machines but also performing routine maintenance checks to ensure they are in optimal working condition. You will work closely with farmers and agricultural managers to understand their needs and adjust machinery settings accordingly to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
In addition to operating machinery, you will be involved in planning and executing agricultural tasks such as planting, fertilising, and harvesting crops. This requires a keen understanding of agricultural practices and the ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and crop requirements. With the increasing integration of technology in agriculture, you may also work with precision farming tools and data analysis software to enhance efficiency and sustainability in farming operations.
Daily Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain tractors and other agricultural machinery.
