Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
Junior Event Planner
In this entry-level role, you will assist senior planners with various tasks, gaining hands-on experience in event coordination and management.
Mid-level Event Planner
As a mid-level planner, you will take on more responsibility, managing your own events and leading a team of junior planners.
Senior Event Manager
In this peak career role, you will oversee large-scale events and strategic planning, often managing a team of planners and liaising with high-profile clients.
Apprenticeships & Direct Entry
You can often bypass traditional university degrees by earning while you learn. The UK government heavily funds Degree-level and Advanced level Apprenticeships for event planners.
