Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Farmer
As a Junior Farmer, you will assist in daily farming operations, learning the ropes of crop management and livestock care while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
Mid-Level Farmer
In this role, you will take on more responsibilities, including managing a team, overseeing crop production, and implementing sustainable practices to enhance productivity.
Senior Farmer/ Farm Manager
As a Senior Farmer or Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the farm, including strategic planning, financial management, and leading innovation in farming practices.
