The Role & Expectations
As a kitchen and catering assistant, you will be immersed in the fast-paced environment of food preparation and service. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, assisting chefs with cooking, and ensuring that the kitchen area is clean and organised. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety, as you will be responsible for washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and disposing of waste properly. Daily Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by washing dishes and cleaning surfaces.
- Organise and store food items in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Support front-of-house staff during busy service periods by preparing food items.
