Investigating some of the most exciting areas of 21st century life science and medical research, our four-year Biochemistry with Integrated Master's MSci will be of particular interest to those who wish to continue in a research career, such as further study to PhD level, working in industry or the wider bioscience sector. Our Biochemistry degree explores human and mammalian biochemistry and how this is advancing our understanding of the molecular basis of conditions ranging from diabetes and cancer, to the interactions of microorganisms and viruses with their hosts as agents of infectious disease, and how this can be controlled. Initial modules will provide you with a broad and varied grounding in modern biochemistry. Building on this you will continue to expand your skillset by examining the application of biochemistry to topics such as drug design or structure and function of proteins involved in the immune response.
