BA History and Literature explores literature, drama and history alongside each other, investigating the ways in which history and literature integrate. BA History and Literature is a three-year undergraduate degree, with optional placement or study abroad opportunities to extend your studies. This degree at University of Essex brings together the study of historical events and literary texts, helping you understand how history shapes literature and how literature reflects and reinterprets the past. You will explore a wide range of historical periods alongside diverse literary traditions, developing strong analytical, research and communication skills.
