The role
As a paediatric nurse, you look after young patients from babies to teenagers. You give them medicines, help the doctor, and do checks to make sure they are getting better. Most importantly, you help children feel less scared about being in hospital.
You work in different places - hospital wards, day clinics, or out in the community. The work can be emotional when children are very ill, but you will also see them go home healthy. You need to talk to children in a way they understand and help their families through worrying times.
