Paramedic
Paramedics are trained medical workers who race to emergencies and give life-saving care. They arrive first when someone calls 999, check what is wrong, treat the patient quickly, and get them to hospital safely. It is fast-paced, unpredictable work that saves lives.
Career progression path
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stagesby entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
You do not have to go the university route to get here. There is an apprenticeship route into this career. There is also a vocational route that skips a degree entirely.
