This job holds up well against AI
AI cannot yet do much of what this job actually involves, and the work is hands-on, in the real world. Software alone can't do it. That is about as safe as careers get right now, though it is still worth learning to use the tools well.

The role

Being a sports player means training most days to get better at your sport. You will do fitness work, practise your skills, watch film of your games to learn, and meet with coaches to work out tactics. Most people start young - at school or in clubs - and some go on to play professionally.

If you love your sport and want a career in it, you need to train seriously and stay focused. Some people make it as professional players, but many have good lives playing for clubs or teaching sport. Either way, you will be part of a team, stay fit and healthy, and get to do something you love.

Daily responsibilities

  • Train rigorously to enhance physical fitness, skills, and game strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions to align with coaches and teammates.
  • Compete in scheduled matches and tournaments, showcasing talent and teamwork.
  • Review game footage to analyze performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage with fans and media, representing the team and sport positively.
  • Maintain a strict diet and wellness regimen to ensure peak physical condition.
  • Collaborate with sports scientists and trainers to optimize performance and recovery.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to inspire the next generation of athletes.
