History and anthropology are disciplines that share a deep commitment to understanding human experience across time and across cultures, and combining them opens up unusually rich intellectual terrain. History develops your ability to analyse evidence, trace change over time and understand events within their social, political and cultural contexts. Anthropology, particularly in its social and cultural forms, brings a comparative and ethnographic dimension, asking what it means to be human in radically different settings and scrutinising the assumptions that shape our own worldview. Together they train you to think rigorously about both the past and the diversity of human life.
