About this course
Photography is far more than a technical skill. It is a way of seeing, a critical practice, and a professional discipline that shapes how the world is represented and understood. As both art form and commercial medium, photography sits at the intersection of visual culture, technology, and communication, and a degree in the subject prepares you to work fluently across that broad terrain. At Coventry University you will develop as an independent, creative, critical, and adaptable practitioner across three years of full-time study. You will explore the history and theory of photography alongside sustained practical work, building technical proficiency in areas spanning documentary, editorial, fine art, and commercial photography. The programme is designed to respond to an evolving industry, so you will also develop an understanding of digital workflows, post-production, and the platforms
