About this course

Welsh is one of the oldest living languages in Europe, with a literary tradition stretching back over a thousand years and a contemporary presence in broadcasting, public life, and everyday speech across Wales. Studying Welsh at degree level means engaging with that tradition seriously, developing fluency in a minority language that has survived against considerable historical odds, and contributing to a living linguistic culture. Journalism, meanwhile, is the craft of gathering, verifying, and communicating information to audiences in ways that are clear, accurate, and timely.
