About this course

Classical music performance and study is a discipline with a tradition stretching back centuries, encompassing the great composers from Bach and Handel through Mozart and Beethoven to Brahms, Mahler, and the twentieth-century and contemporary repertoire. Studying classical music at conservatoire level means developing both the technical mastery and the musical intelligence to perform this repertoire with authority and individuality, and to understand the theoretical structures and historical contexts that give it meaning. It is a demanding and deeply rewarding path for those with serious musical ambitions.
